After years of dedicated leadership on the East End, East Hampton Athletic Director Kathy Masterson has announced her retirement.

A respected and familiar figure in Long Island high school athletics, Masterson became East Hampton’s athletic director on July 1, 2022, following an outstanding 16-year tenure leading athletics at Westhampton Beach. Though her time in East Hampton has been relatively brief, her impact has been immediate and meaningful.

Just months after arriving, Masterson was honored as the Section XI Athletic Director of the Year, a testament to the respect she has earned across the Long Island athletic community.

Given all she has accomplished, it’s hard to believe her time in East Hampton has spanned only as long as the Class of 2026. Her leadership, dedication to student-athletes, and commitment to educational athletics have made a lasting impression on programs throughout the East End.
