Being the fastest in Suffolk County is one thing, but being the best in the country in the 4×800 relay is another level entirely.
The girls’ winter track relay at Bayport-Blue Point ran the race in 9:18.99, beating the program’s national record set in 2002 by 16 seconds.
Ansley and Ava Brogan, Sophia McInnes, and Maddie Jensen set the record and qualified for nationals during a meet at Yale last month.

Anthony Raio from Hills West is one of the country’s top prep lacrosse players. He is committed to UNC.
In late January, he was invited to perform at the Premier Lacrosse League Combine at IMG Academy in Florida.
This invitational, sponsored by STX, hosts “the best high school lacrosse players in the world.”

Congrats to Ward Melville girls’ fencing and Newfield boys’ fencing on winning their respective Suffolk County titles!
Congratulations to this year’s individual Suffolk County Division I wrestling champions and North Babylon for winning the team championship!
