Longwood senior captain Samantha Rostron has finished the 2026 season as Long Island’s digs leader.

Rostron, a libero and defensive specialist for the Lions, recorded 385 digs this season — the highest total of any volleyball player on Long Island. She was also named to Newsday’s Top 100 volleyball players on Long Island.

As Longwood’s defensive anchor, Rostron is the first touch on every rally and the last line of defense in the back row. After posting 196 digs as a junior, she nearly doubled her output as a senior.

Across the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons, Rostron has amassed 581 career digs.
