Southampton’s Traditional Soccer Team for Special Olympics took second place in their division.
Coaches included Brian Tenety, Connor Davis, Ethan Mitchell, and Brandon Perez.
Goalie Zachary Muller had 16 saves and only four goals allowed in four games. His communication and love for taking charge showcased his amazing talent of being able to see things happen before they even occurred.
The defense was lead by RJ Visakowitz, Nigel Abercrombie, Kelly Moran and Dominic Coronel. Their sound play helped keep some of the pressure off Muller. Viskaowitz was a huge piece to keeping the opposing teams away from getting off easy shots on goal.
The offense played outstanding considering they were short handed with subs. Hunter Tuthill was a force in the middle of the field accounting for three goals, Viggo Negroponte put in a few of his own while Prescott Shene helped sweep and push the ball forward to allow our attacking style of play to continue.
Coach Perez was masterful in the way he developed the confidence in these athletes as they prepared.
The coaches are super proud of not only the field play but showcasing that they can do all of the little things off of the field that shows why they are ready to tackle anything that comes their way.
