This is the last week that Newsday writer Bob Herzog will work at the paper after 42 years of service.

The Suffolk County native and resident has spent the last decade or so writing about high school and college sports, positively impacting the lives of thousands of student-athletes and coaches with his words and fair and accurate reporting.

We salute Bob on an incredible career and wish him well in the next chapter of his life! Section XI will always be his home.
