The Shoreham-Wading River Boys 4×800 team brought home the gold and shattered the Yale Track Classic meet record by five tenths of a second with an incredible time of 8:01.04!
Here’s how it went down, according to SWR AD Eric Bramoff:
*Jarrell Winston set the tone with a blazing start, putting the team in great position and handing off in 4th place
*Patrick Morano, making his 4×800 debut, delivered an impressive leg, moving us into 3rd place.
*Patrick Shea, channeling his distance-running strength, joined the sub-2-minute half-mile club, closing the gap to 2nd.
*Michael Huebner anchored the race, facing off against All-American Jack Marchese of Christian Brothers Academy. With 250 meters to go, Michael unleashed a jaw-dropping kick, passing Marchese on the final turn to seal the victory and record-breaking performance!
Congratulations on this historic achievement!
