Coan, Wisconsin Win Orange Bowl

Sayville native Jack Coan and Wisconsin won the Orange Bowl on Saturday night. The Badgers beat Miami, 34-24.

Coan, a backup quarterback as a true freshman, did not play in the bowl game.

He saw action in parts of seven games, going 5-for-5 passing and throwing for 36 yards.

The 13 wins for Wisconsin this year are a program record.

Coan is one of the most prolific passing quarterbacks in Long Island and New York State history.
